On April 25, 2026, JAPAN BRIDGE had the pleasure of participating in the “FY2025 Grant Reporting Conference”, hosted by the Asian Welfare and Education Foundation.
The conference was designed as a space for participating organizations to reflect on a full year of activity, learn from one another’s community efforts, and gather insights to carry forward into future work. Each group shared a story centered on a person who had left a lasting impression through their activities, followed by small group discussions that brought different perspectives together.
Though the presentations were brief, they offered a genuinely valuable opportunity to share the backgrounds and outcomes of each organization’s work.
JAPAN BRIDGE took the stage to present our Syria Introduction Project, an initiative we have been running for educational institutions across Japan. We shared the outcomes we have witnessed through this work — shifts in participants’ understanding of Syria, a growing sense of curiosity and interest, and meaningful changes in their motivation to take action. Seeing those transformations in the people we work with is exactly what keeps us going.
Listening to the other organizations present was equally rewarding. Hearing how different groups are tackling diverse social challenges — and the creative approaches they bring to their work — gave us fresh ideas and renewed energy. Connecting with people working in completely different fields has a way of opening up perspectives you didn’t know you were missing.
The networking session was another highlight. Building relationships with other communities not only expanded our network but also sparked ideas about potential future collaborations — something we are genuinely excited to explore.
Participating in this conference gave us a chance to step back and look at our own activities with fresh eyes, reaffirming the direction we want to move in going forward.
At JAPAN BRIDGE, we remain committed to promoting cross-cultural understanding through education — and events like this one remind us of just how meaningful that mission is.
We look forward to continuing to grow, connect, and learn alongside the many wonderful communities working toward a more understanding world.
