Past Events

Japan Bridge has been actively organizing various events to spread awareness and gather donations for those severely affected by the earthquake that hit Syria and Turkey on February 6, 2023, especially focusing on the under-served northeastern region of Syria.

Our first event was conducted on March 11, 2023, and attracted a wide array of 110 participants from the private, public, and humanitarian sectors. Young members of the community also showed keen interest and active participation. With the valuable presence of our partners, Syrian Hands and Ibra wa Khayt, and an insightful contribution from a professor at Tsukuba University about the history of Syria, the event was an overall success.

Through this event, we were able to increase understanding and empathy, but importantly, we managed to raise enough funds in collaboration with the Molham Team initiative to construct a house for a Syrian family that lost their home due to the earthquake. This achievement underscores the strength of unified efforts.

Looking forward, Japan Bridge aims to set up an education center dedicated to empowering and raising awareness among internally displaced individuals in Syria.

Members of Japan Bridge have also been delivering impactful presentations at various universities, such as Soka University and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), aided by our partner, Bonzatte, who has kindly hosted several of these presentations.

Moreover, Japan Bridge, in collaboration with Syrian Hands, has actively participated in local festivals and charity dinners to continuously raise funds and awareness for our cause. We are thankful for the ongoing support we have received, and we continue to dedicate ourselves to aiding the victims of the earthquake in Syria and Turkey.
